What better way to kick off our “Song of the Day” series than with the endangered song? One of our favorite bands, Portugal. The Man, partnered up with the Smithsonian’s National Zoo to raise awareness about the fragile state of the Sumatran Tiger. There are only 400 species left in the world. So PTM wrote a song, recorded it to vinyl, made only 400 copies, and sent it to 400 different people. It was then on those recipients to reproduce the song and spread it around so it doesn’t go extinct. Pretty cool concept. Plus, the song is kick-ass which is no surprise because everything PTM has ever done is kick ass. So let’s spread the word. Check out the song below and start sharing.
